Therefore, it’s more important than ever to have a good understanding of what autism is and what it isn’t. This workshop is ideal for individuals who are interested in learning more about the basics of autism spectrum disorder. We will address how autism is diagnosed, along with common myths and facts. We will discuss common challenges that are associated with a diagnosis of autism as well as how a diagnosis impacts the family as a whole. Finally, we will discuss evidence-based treatments for autism, and provide a list of resources. This workshop is designed for educators, school staff, and parents who are interested in learning more about autism.
